About this scholarship
Each year the ANU College of Arts and Social Sciences ("the college") may offer an award known as the Bernard Wheelahan Latin American Travel Grant ("the award"). The objective of the award is to assist a student with costs associated with travel to and within Latin America for the purposes of undertaking fieldwork, or an exchange or internship. Funding for this award has been provided by a bequest to the Australian National Centre for Latin American Studies (ANCLAS) through the generosity of Pacific-Hydro Pty Ltd. Mr Bernard Wheelahan chaired the Council on Australia-Latin America Relations from its inception in 2001 until 2010. He has had extensive business experience in Latin America and has been a major force in strengthening ties between Australia and the region
