Australian National University
Bill Packard Scholarship
$8,000 per year
About this scholarship
Each year, Bruce Hall, a residential college at The Australian National University, offers an award known as the Bill Packard Scholarship with the aim of assisting students in financial need relocating from outside of the Canberra region, with the cost of accommodation fees whilst they undertake an undergraduate degree at the ANU. The Bill Packard Scholarship was established as part of the 50th anniversary celebrations of Bruce Hall in memory of William (Bill) Packard AM. Bill was the founding warden of Bruce Hall and was instrumental in shaping the Hall's Culture during his 25 years as Warden of Bruce Hall. Donors to the Bill Packard Scholarship, mainly past residents, have done so to promote and protect the sense of community that makes Bruce Hall the transformative environment where each resident is encouraged and supported to achieve their own personal best in all aspects of life. The Hall continues to support and encourage engagement between the resident body and the broader University and Canberra communities and, through this, to promote active participation in discussion, debate and dialogue designed to broaden students' academic experience of the ANU.
