UNSW offers a wide range of Equity Scholarships to assist commencing and current students for their coursework degree program Equity Scholarship applications open 8 April 2026 Submit an Equity Scholarships application through UAC: UAC Equity Scholarships Application Applications need to be submitted by Friday 24 April 2026 for consideration in May Round 1 . The Equity Scholarship application allows commencing and current applicants undertaking undergraduate or postgraduate coursework studies to apply for Equity scholarships. You will be considered on the basis of your UAC Equity Scholarship (ES) application. You only need to submit ONE Equity Scholarship application via UAC during this period. Your application remains live and you will be considered for all eligible scholarships. Important note: some scholarships may require an additional separate application (e.g. accommodation, direct UNSW Scholarships application). Please carefully review the information below for the relevant scholarships. Avaliable Equity Scholarships and Awards for Term 2, 2026: Scholarship Name Description Value and Duration Academic Carrer Harris Family Equity Scholarship (UGCE1522) Support undergraduate commencing students from low-socioeconomic status backgrounds and/or socio-educationally disadvantaged schools $10,000 per annum for the minimum duration of program Undergraduate UNSW Access Scholarship (UGCE1318) Assists commencing undergraduate coursework students to undertake studies at UNSW. $10,000 per annum for the minimum duration of program Undergraduate UNSW President & Vice-Chancellor?s Equity Scholarship (UGCE1319) Assists commencing undergraduate and postgraduate coursework students to undertake studies at UNSW. $5,000 per annum for the minimum duration of program Undergraduate and Postgraduate Bertha McKenzie Postgraduate Indigenous Scholarship (PGCE1016) Supports Indigenous students commencing a Masters by Coursework degree program at UNSW Sydney. $22,500 per annum for the minimum duration of your program (up to 2 years) Postgraduate UNSW Equity Award (PUCE1008) Assists currently enrolled undergraduate or postgraduate coursework students with their studies at UNSW. $5,000 for one year Undergraduate and Postgraduate UNSW Pre-Entry & Enabling Programs Grant Assists students who are commencing an approved enabling or pre-entry program at UNSW, including: UNSW Prep Program (17?19 years) University Preparation Program (Mature Age Pathway) UNSW Indigenous Admission Scheme UNSW Indigenous Preparatory Programs . $5,000 for one year for a full-time program. Applicants undertaking a part-time pre-entry or enabling program will also be considered and will be eligible for half the value of the Grant. Enabling / Undergraduate Accommodation Scholarships Please note, that you will need to secure a place with a UNSW owned and operated on-campus accommodation provider to be considered for an accommodation scholarship or award. Scholarship Name Description Value and Duration Academic Carrer Community Plus Scholarship (UGCE1502) Supports commencing students from low socioeconomic backgrounds with on-campus accommodation at UNSW The Scholarship will be paid as accommodation fees directly to UNSW Student Accommodation.. Up to $25,000 per annum towards residential fees for the minimum duration of program Undergraduate UNSW Accommodation Scholarship (PUCE1009) Assists commencing undergraduate or postgraduate coursework students with accommodation costs while studying at UNSW. The Scholarship will be paid as accommodation fees directly to UNSW Student Accommodation. $25,000 per annum towards residential fees for the minimum duration of program Undergraduate Basser Endowed Indigenous Award (UGCE1473) Supports commencing or current full-time undergraduate Indigenous students experiencing educational disadvantage and are residing at Basser College. NOTE: Applicants who are receiving the UNSW Accommodation Scholarship are not eligible for consideration. $5,000 for one year. Undergraduate Basser Equity Award (UGCE1350) Supports commencing or current full-time undergraduate students experiencing educational disadvantage and are residing at Basser College NOTE:Applicants who are receiving the UNSW Accommodation Scholarship are not eligible for consideration. $5,000 for one year Undergraduate Engineering Scholarships Scholarship Name Description Value and Duration Academic Carrer Engineering Indigenous Equity Scholarship (UGCE1491) Assists and encourages Indigenous students experiencing educational disadvantage to undertake full-time undergraduate study in the Faculty of Engineering at UNSW.. $15,000 per annum for the minimum duration of program (up to 5 years) Undergraduate Tyree Women in Engineering Scholarship (UGCE1487) Supports women from a disadvantaged background commencing undergraduate studies at the UNSW Faculty of Engineering who have attended a Gateway Partner School in Greater Western Sydney. $25,000 per annum towards residential fees or as a stipend for the minimum duration of program (up to 5 years) Undergraduate Al Willis Scholarship in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering (UGCE1063) Supports students with academic ability experiencing socio/economic circumstances in undertaking an undergraduate program offered by the School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering. $10,000 p.a. for the minimum duration of program (up to 4 years) Undergraduate Science & Mathematics Scholarships Scholarship Name Description Value and Duration Academic Carrer Moses Honours Year Equity Scholarship (UGCE1486) Supports students commencing full-time studies in an Honours Year program in the School of Mathematics & Statistics. Preference will be given to students doing a double degree and/or a pure mathematics stream. $10,000 for one year Undergraduate John Ragnar Anderson Endowed Memorial Scholarship in Chemistry (UGCE1360) Supports students undertaking an undergraduate degree program with a major in Chemistry at the UNSW School of Chemistry $5,000 for remaining duration of the program Undergraduate Science Indigenous Scholarship (UGCE1329) Supports commencing students who identify as Indigenous Australian to undertake an undergraduate coursework degree in Science. $5,000 per annum for the minimum duration of program. Undergraduate Art, Design & Architecture Scholarship Name Description Value and Duration Academic Carrer Brenda Smith Award in Social Work (UGCE1085) Supports students enrolled in the Bachelor of Social Work at UNSW who are experiencing educational disadvantage, particularly whilst completing their third and/or fourth year practicum. $5,000 for one year Undergraduate Theresa Lindsay Hayward Indigenous Social Work Award (UGCE1304) Supports a currently enrolled Indigenous Australian student undertaking their third or fourth year field placement as part of the UNSW Bachelor of Social Work program. $5,000 for one year Undergraduate Dr Kai Fou Wong & Mrs Kaye Shiu Kee Mui Wong Scholarships (UGCE1517) Supports undergraduate students studying in Medicine or Education at UNSW. $10,000 per annum for the minimum duration of program. Undergraduate Nick Waterlow Endowed Curatorial Scholarship (PGCE1017) Established to support and encourage students commencing a Master of Curating and Cultural Leadership program at UNSW. $5,000 per annum for the minimum duration of program. Postgraduate Law & Justice Scholarship Name Description Value and Duration Academic Carrer The Dean's PLT Equity Scholarships (Indigenous) (PGCE1020) The purpose of the Scholarship is to support students from diverse and disadvantaged backgrounds to undertake the UNSW Graduate Diploma in Legal 1 Professional Practice (GDLPP). $10,000 for one year Postgraduate The Dean's PLT Equity Scholarships (Refugee) (PGCE1021) The purpose of the Scholarship is to support students from diverse and disadvantaged backgrounds to undertake the UNSW Graduate Diploma in Legal 1 Professional Practice (GDLPP). $10,000 for one year Postgraduate Dorothy Hughes Memorial Scholarship (UGCE1039) Encourages Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to continue study in the Faculty of Law & Justice at UNSW. $10,000 for one year Undergraduate UNSW Scholarships work in partnership with the Office of the PVC Indigenous and Nura Gili, Centre for Indigenous Programs . In some cases, UNSW may prioritise Indigenous students for Equity Scholarships. While Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander identity is unique and sacred to every person, UNSW scholarships prioritising Indigenous students will require proof of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identity and heritage. If you have not already provided proof of identity and heritage to Nura Gili, any Indigenous-specific scholarship offer made by UNSW Scholarships will be conditional upon receipt of proof of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage to Nura Gili, as outlined on the Nura Gili website.
