About this scholarship

Each year the National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health ('the School') in the ANU College of Health and Medicine, ('the College') may offer an award known as the Graeme Samuel Dementia Research Award ('the Award'). Funding for this Award has been provided by the Australian National University and donors, including a matching contribution from major donor the Dementia Australia Research Foundation (DARF). The ANU and DARF are supporting this award in honour of Professor Graeme Samuel AC, former ANU Council member who holds a key interest and expertise in dementia research. He is Chair of Dementia Australia, Chair of the Dementia Australia Research Foundation, and Chair of the Australian Dementia Network Ltd (ADNet). The objective of the Award is to support an outstanding domestic or international candidate to enable them to pursue a Higher Degree Research (HDR) program in the field of Dementia Prevention Research, based in the Centre for Research on Ageing, Health & Wellbeing, the National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health, ANU College of Health and Medicine.
