About this scholarship
This Scholarship was established in 2024, to provide assistance to students of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music to travel overseas to further their studies. This Scholarship is funded by the Sydney Conservatorium Association. 1. Background a. This Scholarship was established in 2024, to provide assistance to students of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music to travel overseas to further their studies. b. This Scholarship is funded by the Sydney Conservatorium Association. 2. Eligibility a. Applicants must be either: I. currently enrolled at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, or II. completed a degree at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. b. Applicants must be studying music. c. Applicants must be travelling overseas to further their studies. 3. Selection Criteria a. The Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of: I. academic merit, II. curriculum vitae, and III. project proposal including projected budget when travelling overseas. b. Applicants may be required to attend an interview. c. The Scholarship will be awarded by the Head of School and Dean of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. 4. Value a. The Scholarship value and duration will be determined by the Dean of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and will be stipulated in the Scholarship Offer Letter to the recipient(s). b. The Scholarship value will be paid in one single instalment on receipt of the completed Scholarship Acceptance Form. c. Deferral of the Scholarship is not permitted without the prior written permission of the Dean of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. d. The Scholarship is not transferable to another University school, faculty or university. e. The Scholarship will be offered subject to the availability of funds. f. No other amount is payable. 5. Termination a. A recipient enrolled at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music will have their scholarship terminated if they: I. withdraw from an eligible course or fails to enrol, II. withdraw or fails to complete the approved travel overseas, III. is determined by the University to be guilty of serious misconduct, including, but not limited to, having provided false or misleading information as part of their Scholarship application, or IV. does not resume study at the end of a period of approved leave. b. A recipient who is an alumni of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music will have their scholarship terminated if they: I. withdraw or fail to complete the approved travel overseas, or II. is determined by the University to be guilty of serious misconduct, including, but not limited to, having provided false or misleading information as part of their Scholarship application. c. Once the Scholarship has been terminated, it will not be reinstated unless due to University error. d. Where a student is found guilty of serious misconduct or the Scholarship is terminated under any instance in the Termination Clause of these terms and conditions, the University reserves the right to request that any Scholarship funds paid to the Scholarship recipient be reimbursed.
